International Workshop on: Wireless Sensor Networks for IoT: Design and Optimization
WSNIOT’23 Workshop
WSNIOT’23 Workshop Introduction:
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are an important component of the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. They consist of a large number of small, low-power, wireless devices called sensor nodes that can sense, process, and transmit data about the physical environment. These nodes are typically deployed in a distributed manner over a wide area to form a network that can be used for various applications, such as environmental monitoring, health monitoring, and smart homes.
The design and optimization of WSNs for IoT involves the process of selecting the appropriate hardware and software components, as well as the network topology and communication protocols, to achieve the desired performance goals. This includes considerations such as energy efficiency, reliability, security, scalability, and real-time responsiveness. Optimization techniques can be used to minimize energy consumption, increase network lifetime, and improve data accuracy and reliability. Overall, the design and optimization of WSNs is a critical aspect of IoT systems, as it can significantly impact the performance, cost, and usability of these systems.
